Lab Babies

Natalie

I'm mainly interested in studying the links between emotion regulation and learning among parents. My studies include reaction time (RT) tasks such as throwing away my socks and measuring the time it takes my parents to put them back on my feet. I do this also with my pacifier, toys or any other object I can throw far away. My mother thinks that I'll be an engineer when I grow up, but my current plan is to be a comedian. Everyone tells me that I have a great sense of humor!

Deyam

Hello! My name is Deyam, and I'm four years old. I adore playing make-believe with my fairy and superhero dolls, guiding them through exciting adventures where they support each other. Thanks to my mom's expert guidance, I've become skilled at managing my emotions and helping others do the same, even teaching my dolls breathing exercises. That's why I'm very excited to be part of the Emotion Lab! I'm thinking of collaborating with my mom on her research about extrinsic emotion regulation and depression—after all, teamwork makes the dream work! Maybe I can convince her to let me be the first author of our groundbreaking research... or at least allow myself to enjoy some extra chocolate!

Adam

I'm involved in a longitudinal study investigating the relationship between selective attention and emotion regulation among mothers during and after maternity leave. Through this research, I've observed that my Mom's attention isn't directed towards the household mess when she needs to dedicate all of her attention to me. I find this fascinating and highly important!

Abigail

Hello! I am Abigail.

I am 11 months old, I like to eat things that are on the floor, feel rough objects with my teeth and knock on the computer keyboard while mom is working! I like to laugh and eat mainly orange vegetables!

From the moment I was born, I practice my emotion regulation abilities. I learned that I’m mostly relaxed when I am being pat, showered, and when my mother feeds me. I am happiest when I am with the people I love so much, my family! Because I love the people around me so much, my future research will focus on how changes in the environment strengthen my confidence and emotion regulation skills.

Aya Miriam

My name is Aya Miriam Eliyahu and I am one year old. Despite my young age, it can certainly be said that I understand much more than the adults around me. I really like my routine, packs of chewing gum, dogs and chargers... At the moment I am busy developing my abilities in the field of fine motor skills and expanding my poetry and literature repertoire (how many times can you hear where is spot?)
